Always happy to get back to the golf course. Mondays are much more fun when one is retired...
But the golf is a struggle. It's so easy at the range.
I can't remember Monday and that is probably a good thing.
Today, Tuesday, I shoot even on the front and 4 over on the back. Sure, 76, sounds good, blah, blah, blah, but what a struggle it was.
The tee shots are causing me to come leaping out of the shot to do something. Not sure what, keep my balance or not break an ankle? Might be better if that happened, take some time off and come back with a more sorted mind.
There was a lot good there. I putted well and chipped well and got up and down a few times. Made two long putts and could have made more birdies had the greens been a bit faster. There were no struggles on the greens, which can be no fun too. It was frustrating in not knowing where the swing goes and how to coax it back.
There is a ray of hope as I was able to hit a few tee shots coming in. The last 4 holes I played in one over but was able to solidly hit the ball. I was trying to pin my left arm to my shoulder as I swung the driver.
This caused some strange timing issues. It feels like the club is coming through very late in the swing. But I hit them pretty well. Actually, as I think about it, I wildly sliced on the 18th, but the ball hit a tree and come out in the fairway at a reasonable distance. I was able to get it home from there. Two bogeys were due to being behind trees and having to pitch out.
So I'll try this some more tomorrow, if I remember to do it. Thursday is an off day at this point, so I'll be at the range seeking knowledge and try to take a video or two. I'll put them up somewhere if I do.
That's about all the golf news. Best part of the day was the Costco hot dog at the end of all of it.
